Actor Zanjoe Marudo has been nominated for this year’s coveted International Emmy awards for his performance in the drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya” (MMK).
According to Zanjoe’s home network ABS-CBN, he is running for the “Best Performance by an Actor” award thanks to his role as a single father who brought up his children in a cave after their town was struck from calamity.
Zanjoe’s felloe nominees include Julio Andrade who hails from Brazil, Kenneth Branagh of the United Kingdom, and Kad Merad of France.
ABS-CBN star Jodi Santa Maria was also nominated last year for the top female acting honors.
The Emmys is an international award-giving body which recognizes “excellence within various areas of television and emerging media.”
The 2017 International Emmy Awards ceremony will be held in New York City on November 20.
