Kpop girl group Red Velvet’s first-ever subunit has finally debuted!
On Monday, the fiery duo Irene and Seulgi unveiled their first mini-album “Monster” which is now available on all major streaming platforms and had already broken a few records within a day.
Their album is now the best-selling album by a K-pop female sub-unit group, surpassing that of Girls’ Generation TaeTiSeo’s ‘Twinkle’ in 2012.
However, fans went furious after the music video, which was expected to be released at 6 PM KST of Monday, was delayed for hours.
SM Entertainment, Irene and Seulgi’s label, in a statement, said the music video for their title track of the same name will be revealed on July 7 at 12 PM KST instead.
Despite the technical errors, it didn’t stop the excitement of the fans of Red Velvet or ReVeLuvs who immediately trended hashtags ‘MonsterIShere,’ ‘RedVelvet_IRENE_SEULGI,’ and ‘WatchMonsterNow’ worldwide.
“Monster” is a medium tempo pop dance track with intense keyboard, heavy bass, and powerful dubstep sounds. The lyrics express becoming a monster that dances and bothers someone in their dreams.
