As the Philippines celebrates Independence Day today, Vice President Leni Robredo warned Filipinos of threats against the freedom of the country.

In her speech at the Luneta Park in Roxas Boulevard, Ermita, Manila, Robredo said that freedom in the Philippines is facing various dangers: including widespread poverty, increasing prices of goods, lack of justice, abuses in human rights, and disputes in territories.

The vice-president added that she believes that Filipinos can remain steadfast and overcome these threats in the country’s freedom.
