Vice Ganda was quick to lashed out against showbiz reporter Gorgy Rula amid the latter’s comment on FAMAS’ intention to give the comedian the Dolphy Lifetime Achievement award.
In a consecutive Twitter posts, the host of “It’s Showtime” said that he is not aware of who Mr. Rula is nor his achievements, and has no idea why the reporter is so affected with the award which, obviously, FAMAS decided to give to him.
Vice Ganda added that once his name has been called and stage and made the necessary thank you speech, he will call Rula to give the award, and maybe, announce whom he thinks best to receive it, “ Attend po kyo ng FAMAS sa June 10 tpaos pag akyat kop o ng stage at makapagpasalamat e tatawagin kita para iabot sayo ung trophy para ibigay mo kung kanino mo gustong ibigay.”
In the end, Vice tweeted that he is not mad at Rula and in fact, is thinking of ways on how to make him happy, “kilala mo naman ako I want to make people happy.”
The Vice Ganda-Gorgy Rula issue stemmed after FAMAS, now with Ricky Lee as its Jury chairman, announced this year’s nominees and special awards recipients.
Rula made a comment in an online showbiz media outlet that he could not let go of the fact that the Lifetime achievement award will be going to Vice instead of a more veteran comedian, like Vic Sotto or even Joey De Leon.
He even questioned the fact that the award show will be aired in ABS-CBN, Vice Ganda’s home network.
This year’s FAMAS has yet to air and yet, controversy seems to hound it.
