I text manong Joe barely a week ago to invite him for coffee and was shock to learn his passing. Manong Joe was not only a pillar in the media industry but also an advocate for consumer rights and better service to the people. During his interviews with me, he was objectively critical of excessive electricity and water rates, dismal SSS pension, and other unjust impositions on the people. We have lost an articulate and incisive advocate for the poor with the passing of manong jo. after all he was not only a media person, but also a defender of the people against the greed of the rich and powerful. My deepest condolence to the Manong Jos family and the DZRH community.
