US-PHL military exercises set to start in September

The Military exercises between the Philippine Navy and the US Navy is set to begin in September 29, 2014, where the opening ceremony will take place at the naval Forces West in Brgy. San Manuel, Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

According to the report of the Philippine Navy, more than four thousand Filipino and American soldiers will participate in the said military exercise in the country.  The said event will be from September 29 to October 10.

1st Lt. Jerber Anthony Belonio of the Public Affairs Office of the Philippine Marines said that more than one thousand members of the Philippine Marines and Philippine Navy will participate in the exercise while more than three thousand American soldiers will join the Phiblex 15 or the Philippine Amphibious Landing Exercise.

Some exercises like the Live Fire Exercise and Combined Live Fire Exercise will be held at the Crow Valley in Tarlac on October 7, while the Mechanized Assault Exercise will be at the Naval Education Training Center in Zambales on October 5.

The Phiblex is a yearly military exercise between the Philippines and the United States which was further strengthened by the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement.
