Max Changmin of South Korean group TVXQ has just announced that he will be tying the knot with his girlfriend this September.
The 32-year-old singer-actor, whose real name Choi Chang-min, wrote on Friday a lengthy message to their fans known as Cassiopeas about his decision to marry his girlfriend, whom he first went public with last December 2019.
In his message posted on the fan community app Lysn, Changmin detailed how far he has come since he debuted as a singer almost 17 years ago.
“Approximately 17 years have passed since I debuted as a singer. Within that time, a young and clumsy high schooler has grown into a man in his mid-30s. I have spent almost half of my life as part of TVXQ. During times when the future of the group was uncertain, you (our fans) stood by us, protected us, and gave us your love. Because of that, we have been able to grow so much. For that, I give you my utmost gratitude, ” he said.
He then proceeded on sharing how much trust and faith he shared with his partner, whom he “naturally wanted to continue his life with”.
“We have had a good relationship with trust and faith in one another, and naturally I decided that I want to continue my life together with this person, so we made the decision to have our wedding in September around the time when the heat will cool down,” he added.
Shortly after his announcement, TVXQ’s agency SM Entertainment confirmed the news saying “the exact date for the ceremony has already been set for September 5.”
However, no other details will be revealed out of consideration for the idol, his bride, and their families. They requested that fans and reporters respect the privacy of those involved.
“Changmin will continue with his activities as a musician and member of TVXQ. Therefore, please send him your blessings as he enters a new chapter of his life,” it stated.
