A court in Pasay City has already been assigned on the Inciting to Sedition case filed against Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV.
Pasay City OIC City Prosecutor Benjamin Lanto issued a resolution and recommended the filing of the said charges against the senator.
The said case stemmed from the privilege speech of Trillanes during a Senate hearing in October, 2017; accusing President Rodrigo Duterte of having secret bank accounts.
The complainants include Atty. Eligio Mallari, Atty. Glenn Chong, Atty. Nestor Ifurung, Atty. Jacinto Paras, Atty. Eduardo Bringas, and Atty. Nasser Marohomsalic.
Based on the preliminary investigation of Lanto, there is enough evidence to press charges against Trillanes because the latter seemed to be encouraging his fellow military men to assassinate the President and urging the public to sign a petition to impeach him.
Lanto said that they made sure to give Trillanes enough time to defend himself.
Judge Remibel Mondia of branch 45 of the Metropolitan Trial Court in Pasay City will be in-charge of the inciting to sedition case filed against Trillanes.
