Tension between military, BIFF continues in North Cotabato

The clash between the military troops and elements of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters continues in North Cotabato.

Amid the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ declaration that the said incident in the town of Pigcawayan was just short, a big number of BIFF members remain at the Malagakit Elementary School in Brgy. Malagakit.

Based on report, tension ensued anew around noon and that there are hostages allegedly being held by members of the BIFF.

During a press briefing in Malacanang on Wednesday, AFP Spokesman Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla said that the encounter with the BIFF amid the group trying to occupy the school but failed, was only brief.

However, residents said that though the military were able to dismiss the BIFF, soon after they returned to the area and once again clashed with the government troops.
