Super Junior Kim Heechul to join We Got Married Global Edition

Keep calm ELF, as it turns out, Yes it’s true.  Super Junior Milky White Skin Kim Heechul is getting married, virtually getting married though.

The popular Korean show We Got Married has branched out last year turning the franchise globally by putting together celebrities from South Korea and coupling them with foreign celebrities.  They started off with specials, virtual marriages lasting for a few episodes.  Super Junior Cho Kyuhyun and T’ ara’s Hyomin participated in the Chinese version of We Got Married.  It was telecast on Valentine’s Day and was part of the celebration of the diplomatic relationship between SoKor and China.

Last year, they introduced two couples for their WGM Global Edition.  2PM Taecyeon and FT Island’s Lee Hongki became husbands to Fujii Mina from Japan and Gui Gui of China.

For 2014, Kim Heechul will be joining the cast with his virtual wife yet to be identified.  According to reports, they’ve narrowed down the choices to three Chinese idols.  It seems though that Dream Girls’ Puff Kuo will be IT some news sources are already reporting that she will start taping for the said show next week.

Kim Heechul was very vocal when he was discharged from his mandatory two year service in the Army that if he will return to television, he would want to participate in shows such as We Got Married.  However, he poked fun at the idea by stating that he wants to be paired with Xiumin of EXO.

Xiumin looks is identical to Wonder Girls’ Sohee, to whom Heechul’s been known to have a crush on.

It is quiet surprising that fans of Super Junior are supporting this new development in Heechul’s career.  Usually, fans don’t want to see their idols acting lovey-dovey with someone else, but in the case of Heechul, ELFs (Super Junior’s fandom) are more than excited to see how Heenim will interact with his virtual wife.

Heechul is not the first Super Junior to join WGM.  Kangin was the first one when he got paired with Lee Yoon Ji. Then there was Leeteuk with Kang Sora.  During their marriage, four Super Junior members participated in a blind date, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Sungmin and Kyuhyun.  Then there was Pit A Pat Shake where Sungmin was paired with Sistar’s Hyorin, and then Kyuhyun for the Chinese version.

According to MBC, Heenim’s episode will start airing early April.   (Rita B. Salonga)
