Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez might declare a ‘State of calamity’ due to the consecutive quakes that are being felt in the Province of Leyte.
Resident s in Ormoc were frightened once again after the place experienced turmoil for the second time with a magnitude 5.4 quake.
Last Thursday, Leyte was first hit by a magnitude 6.5 quake where an establishment collapsed and two individuals died while more than 40 were hurt.
In an interview over DZRH News, Gomez said they were on a meeting when the second quake hit Monday morning.
A cabinet meeting is conducted today at the city hall, but the Mayor vowed it is still safe in the area.
Employees of the city hall were forced to get out of the building according to the Mayor.
In line with this, Gomez advised public to remain calm and alert at all times.
