South Korean girl group TWICE makes bolder comeback with ‘Fancy’

South Korean girl group from JYP Entertainment, TWICE shocked their fans with a bolder and fiercer comeback with their 7th mini album title track ‘Fancy.’

On Monday, the nine-member-group showed their glamorous outfits and difficult choreography with flashing retro-like lights. In an interview, the group said that the song gives out a of slight EDM and contains lots of CG.

“Fancy” is a bouncing electro-pop track that keeps the group’s quintessentially retro-inspired, addicting sound while turning to a bit of a bolder styling that revels in dynamic synths and playful digital quirks, as per Billboard. Also, the group’s vocals take on a bit more of a mature, sultry tone during the verses, but TWICE maintains their exuberant, upbeat energy for the song’s chorus.

“Fancy” was co-written by Black Eyed Pilseung, who has written many of TWICE’s past hits including 2015 debut single “Like Ooh-Ahh” and 2016’s “TT.” The songwriting duo, which consists of Rado and Choi Kyu-sung, is credited alongside Jeon Goon.

Their mini album also notably features “Girls Like Us,” which was co-written by MNEK and Charli XCX, and features lyrics penned by TWICE’s Jihyo. Momo, Sana, and Chaeyoung are also credited on the album as co-lyricists.

TWICE recently announced their upcoming Fancy You world tour, which includes Manila on their stops this coming June!
