There are reports circulating that some members of the PDP-Laban have expressed their interest in joining the “Hugpong ng Pagbabago” party being formed by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
According to Senator Koko Pimentel, it is normal for politicians to move from political party to another, and it is something that they have no control of.
Pimentel added that they already expected that some of their members will be leaving their political party.
On the other hand, it is also expected that these politicians will be joining the political party of Mayor Sara, who allegedly was behind the ouster of Davao Del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez from his post as Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The rift between Alvarez and the presidential daughter stemmed after the ousted House Speaker associated mayor Sara as part of the opposition after she formed the “Hugpong ng Pagbabago.” Mayor Sara slammed Alvarez and stated that “the Philippines will be a better country if he (Alvarez) is not speaker. The president will be a stronger president without Alvarez.”
In line with the recent change of leadership in Congress and her alleged involvement in it, Mayor Sara earned the moniker “Queen Maker”, with just a wave of her hand, the leadership in Congress was changed.
