Cagayan De Oro Cong. Rufus Rodriguez, chairman of the House Ad Hoc Committee, is confident that the Bangsamoro Basic Law will be ratified under the Aquino Administration.
According to the Congressman, Congress will immediately resume its session for its interpellation on the BBL with the assurance that it will remain the lower house’s priority.
Rodriguez knows that Filipinos are waiting for the conclusion of the peace process for the Moro Islamic Liberation Front because it supports the initiative of the government for long term peace in Mindanao.
MILF Chief Negotiator Mohagher Iqbal said that they plan on conducting one on one meetings with the Senators to earn their support for the BBL.
Their group believes that the BBL will be ratified before the Congress takes a break in October and before everybody gets busy with the 2016 elections. (with DZTH Leth Narciso-Abinales, Aly Narvaez)
