Sherwin “Bata” Alfaro



There is nobody in DZRH, or perhaps the entire radio industry, that can compare to the spirit and exuberance of Sherwin “Bata” Alfaro when it comes to radio reporting and everything in-between.

Sherwin graduated from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila in 1999 with a degree in Mass Communications. Starting as an intern in DZRH under the guidance of Fidela“Tiya Dely” Magpayo, the Golden Voice of Philippine Radio, he is in service of the Filipino people for 12 years.

His current assignments include the Office of the Vice President, Department of Foreign Affairs and Ninoy Aquino International Airport. He was the one to break the stories on the rescue of Tata Pedro from the 4 fishermen of South China Sea in 2004 which garnered a Special Citation Award from Catholic Mass Media Awards,(CMMA) and the issue of “Sex For Flight” that led to the Senate Investigation in 2013.

Aside from his reporting skills, he also does hosting, voice-over for commercials and stingers, and is a promising singer.
