The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) recorded a series of strong quakes on Sunday, May 5, in Surigao Del Sur and Davao Occidental
At 6:32AM, a magnitude 4.6 earthquake was recorded at 80 kilometers south of Marihatag, Surigao Del Sur. It had a depth of three kilometers.
At 7:51AM, PHIVOLCS recorded another 4.6 quake, with a depth of 90 kilometers, at 203 km south of Sarangani, Davao Occidental.
14 minutes later, a 4.2 earthquake was also recorded at 201 kilometers south of Sarangani. It had a depth of 33 kilometers.
At 9:56AM, PHIVOLCS recorded magnitude 5 quake, with a depth of 28 kilometers, at 81 km south of Cagawait, Surigao Del Sur. The agency expects aftershocks due to the quake.
