Senators try to pass FOI bill anew

Four Senators will re-file the freedom of information bill once the 16th Congress opens.

Senators TG Guingona, Francis Escudero, Alan Peter Cayetano and Loren Legarda are one in passing the freedom of information bill that will give complete transparency on the transactions and contracts of the government.

In a different version of the bill, government agencies will be prohibited to hide or withhold the documents from the public.

In the recent Congress, the FOI bill was strengthened but it was not the priority of Malacañang. (Judie Anne Abejero)
