Senators salute AFP for lack of Human Rights violations during Martial Law

Most of the Senators praised the Armed Forces of the Philippines since there has been no reports of human rights violations as the 60-day period of the Martial Law in Mindanao is nearing expiration.

The senators also complimented the AFP for their courage in fighting the Maute Terror group and other terrorists groups in Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur.

The Commission on Human Rights reported that there are no formal report of any human rights violation for their field offices in Mindanao.

Due to this, Senate Minority leader Franklin Drilon said that the AFP should be given due recognition and support.

Senate President Protempore Ralph Recto believes that, because of this achievement, the Malacanang can easily persuade the senators to support the request of President Rodrigo Duterte to extend the Martial Law declaration in Mindanao.

For Sen. Gregorio ‘Gringo’ Honasan, the AFP proved that the public does not need to be afraid of Martial Law since its implementation and implementers are now different.
