The Senate will approve priority bills as soon as the third regular session of the 17th Congress begins.

According to Senate President Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto IIII, the Upper House of Congress will act on the bicameral report of the Bangsamoro Organic Law in the morning of July 23.

Aside from their priority bills for the third regular session of the 17th Congress, the Senate will also act on the 2019 proposed national budget that is expected to be submitted by Malacanang on July 24.

Sotto further revealed that a caucus will be held on July 24 in order to discuss the draft federal constitution that will be submitted by the Consultative Committee.

Sotto also clarified that the senators will continue with their hearing regarding charter change, however, the Senate has yet to decide their position regarding changing the government system to a federal system.
