The Senate insists that President Benigno Aquino III should apologize and tell the truth regarding what happened in Oplan Exodus.

Senator Grace Poe’s committee recommended to run after those who are responsible to the death of the Fallen 44 and provide aid to the families they left behind.

This was the summary of the report of the Senate Committee on Public Order and Safety after its investigation on the Mamasapano tragedy.

Poe said that everything that went wrong with the said operation ultimately started and ended with the President.  These mistakes include those committed by former PNP Chief Alan Purisima and former SAF Commander Dir. Getulio Napenas.

However, regardless of how grave the mistakes of the President and the other players were, it was those who pulled the trigger that killed the 44 members of the PNP-SAF are the most at fault in this tragedy.

One of the highlights from the said Senate report was the President’s explanation of what really happened in Zamboanga, the morning of January 25 wherein the members of SAF were surrounded by the MILF-BIFF group but the President didn’t exhaust all means to save them.
