Senator Joseph ‘JV’ Ejercito is asking the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee and Health Committee to investigate the controversial procurement of the Department of Health of Dengvaxia or Dengue Vaccines.
Ejercito said that there is a need to reveal the truth regarding the procurement of Dengvaxia from the Sanofi Pasteurs in France, since the vaccine poses danger to the public.
Ejercito insisted that any government official involved in the procurement should be held accountable.
During a press conference on Friday, December 1, Health Sec. Francisco Duque revealed that the previous Aquino Administration spent Php 3 billion to buy 300 million vials of dengue vaccine.
Based on the records of the DOH, about 789,000 doses of dengue vaccine remains and will expire on August 2018.
