The hierarchy of the Government Peace Negotiating Panel has received an explanation from rebel communists regarding the assault in Maasin Police Station, Iloilo.
GPH Negotiator/ Labor Sec. Secretary Silvestre Bello III revealed that he spoke with National Democratic Front Panel Head Fidel Agcoili who said that police in the said area are involved in illegal drugs operations.
Agcaoili insist that their group is cooperating with President Rodrigo Duterte in eliminating illegal drug syndicates in the Philippines.
Bello said during an exclusive interview with DZRH.
Meanwhile, the Gov’t Peace Negotiating Panel remains positive that the postponed 5th round of peace talks will continue.
Sec. Bello hopes that the peace process will push through, even though there have been numerous reports of communist rebels attacking the Luzon and Visayas.
According to Bello, it is up to Pres. Duterte’s decision if the peace talks with the Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army – NDF will be finished.
“Tuloy pa rin. Hindi lang namin malaman, kasi we have to find-out if we can observe na si NDF will cooperate in providing the talks with the conducive atmosphere. Bello said.
