Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio dismissed three city hall employees for supposedly testing positive on a drug test.
According to Michael Denton Aportadera, the action officer of the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC), the three officials were discharged after testing positive on drugs, specifically shabu, during a random mandatory drug testing.
Aportadera, however, did not name the following officials but maintained that the dismissal was in accordance with the Civil Service Law.
The Davao City Mayor previously said that she wants the city’s employees to lead the campaign against illegal drugs by example.
The presidential daughter also vowed the immediate termination of any official who is caught involved in the illegal substance.
According to Aportadera, the next random drug testing will be participated by 12,000 local government employees.
The random drug testing of the city hall workers was ordered by Duterte back in October.
