Efren “Bata” Reyes at his element on 2nd day of World 9-Ball Championships.

Billiards living legend Efren “Bata” Reyes was able to quickly recover from a dismal first day performance on the second day of the World 9-Ball Championship in Doha, Qatar.

Reyes beat Shawn Wilke of Australia, 9 tracks to 4, on the loser’s bracket.

Aside from Reyes, five other Filipino billiard masters won too, including fan favorites’ Dennis Orcullo and Lee Van Corteza.

Orcullo swept his Iranian nemesis, 9 racks to 1, while Corteza didn’t even sweat out his win over Mohamad Ali Berjawi, 9 racks to 1.

Marlon Villamor, Mark Anthony and Carlo Biado also won their respective matches.

More than 36 Thousand dollars is at stake for the champion of the 2013 World 9-Ball Tournament.
