Racal, Tanduay spill first blood in PBA D-League Semifinals


Sidney Onwubere saved Racal Tile Masters during their Game-1 of the Best-of-3 Semifinals of the 2017 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup. The Fil-Nigerian Basketball player shot a three pointer during the last seconds of the game. This secured the victory of Racal against Café France Bakers.

In the game on Tuesday at Marikina Sports Complex, Onwubere contributed 24 points in order for the Tile Masters to defeat the Bakers with a score of 88-86. The Bakers were led by Rod Ebondo with 30 points.

Meanwhile, Tanduay Rhum Masters brought down top seeded Cignal-San Beda in order to grab their first win in the Best-of-3 Semifinals of the 2017 PBA D-League Aspirant’s Cup.

Tanduay defeated Cignal with a score of 66-55. Jerwin Gaco made 16 points for Tanduay’s win while Pamboy Raymundo contributed 13 points for Cignal.

The four teams will face one another again at the Game-2 of the PBA D-League Aspirant’s Cup semifinals scheduled on Thursday, at the Ynares Sports Arena, Pasig.
