Proposed four-day work week

A labor group is in favor of having a four-day work week with one condition.

The Associated Labor Unions-Trade Union Congress of the Philippine said that the implementation of this proposed plan is voluntary or selective basis.

According to Gerard Seno, Executive Vice President of ALU-TUCP, if the implementation of the 4-day work week will be mandatory, this will have a bad effect on the employees and companies.

The 4-day work week aims to lessen traffic in the National Capital Region.

However, employees weren’t keen on the idea especially for those who earns on a daily basis.

Seno said that if the plan will be selective, there would be benefits from it depending on what purpose it serves the company. (Rey Sibayan)
