There is nothing to look forward to this coming Labor Day as Malacanang announced that President Rodrigo Duterte will no longer issue an Executive Order, ending the End of Contract Policy in the country.
During a press briefing in Malacanang on Thursday, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said that this was the recommendation of Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III to the President.
Instead of an EO, the Palace will just leave it to Congress on creating a bill that will end ENDO.
In line with this, President Duterte said that he will make the ENDO Bill a priority measure in order to hasten its approval in Congress.
Prior to this, a lot of Labor groups expressed their dismay as they expected an EO from the President by Labor Day.
