President Rodrigo Duterte is challenging Communist Party of the Philippines Founding Chairman Jose Maria “Joma” Sison to take part in the peace talks, for the Philippines to achieve peace.

Duterte also asked his former mentor to show consistency in their commitment to the peace talks.

The President compared the CCP founder to an electric fan which continuously changes its mind and direction.

“You know you are like an electric fan.” Duterte said. “First you said that, during the Martial Law proclamation, you ordered your troops, the NPAs, to engage us government forces actively. Then you changed your mind and said that you would cooperate.”

Duterte also said that Sison is gravely sick and hopes that in the last part of the Communist leader’s life it will think of supporting the peace talks.

“You are sick. You are not dying but you are seriously sick. Would you be happy to see and to die that there is peace in this country before you finally close your eyes?” Duterte said regarding Sison.
