Prayer rally against death penalty set for tomorrow


A massive prayer rally against the reinstatement of the death penalty is set to push through tomorrow, February 18.

The said protest will be led by the Catholic Church.

The prayer rally called the “walk for life” will start at 4am at the Quirino grandstand.  The mass meeting is expected to end at 9am.


Zenaida Capistrano, President of the Council of the Laity of the Philippines, urges participants of the prayer rally to wear white shirts and to bring white flaglets and ribbons. According to Capistrano, the said attire and items will show their reverence to a person’s right to live.

A similar prayer assembly will be done in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, and Cebu City.

Participants of the prayer rally will come from the Mountain Province, Nueva Ecija, Batangas, and other provinces in Luzon.
