The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) in Silang, Cavite has been placed under lockdown after a total of 232 cadets and 11 personnel tested positive in coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a statement, PNPA director Major Gen. Gilberto Cruz said the infected individuals are now under strict monitoring across five isolation facilities.
“Our health frontliners are now strictly monitoring these cadets and personnel on these recovery areas. As of writing, there is no recorded increase of COVID-19 case,” Cruz said.
“We assure the families and loved ones of the cadets that they are in good hands and their wellness will always be our paramount consideration. We also thank our generous donors for the countless blessings that were shared.”
PNPA spokesman Police Lieutenant Colonel Byron Allatog said a total of 10,000 face masks and 1,000 face shields were donated as well as some laboratory gowns, 15 thermal scanners, two oxygen tanks, and some medicines.
The cadets also received a total of 11,000 Vitamin C capsules to be consumed for 14 days, he added.
