PNP warns public to be cautious in using social media

The Philippine National Police-Anti-Cybercrime Group is reminding those who are hooked with social media, to be wary about it following the Kiefer Ravena extortion incident.

According to Police Supt. Jay Guillermo, we should all be careful with the personal information we share in the world wide web, especially the pictures we post.

Guillermo added that we should not just trust anyone we talk, meet in social media.

Each picture, message should be thought carefully, whether it will be beneficial or not to one’s self.

Ravena’s racy pictures went viral in social media a couple of days ago.  The former Ateneo De Manila University’s star player claims that a certain Christopher Ng tried extorting him by threatening him to reveal the said pictures in public.
