The Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) seized around 10 kilograms of crystallized methamphetamine, locally known as shabu, and arrested eight suspects during an anti-illegal drug operation on Wednesday, July 1, in Meycauayan City, Bulacan.

PBGen Rhodel Sermonia, regional police director for Central Luzon, identifed the suspects as Sandy Domingo, Nida Barrientos, Rhodora Jose, Christian Villaflores, Milky Joy Principe, Kevin Limbo, Bernard Flores, and Clifford Bello.

Sermonia links the suspects to a group that has direct connections with a main source of illegal drugs from mainland China, and responsible to the distribution of narcotics in Central Luzon, Metro Manila, and Southern Luzon.

Authorities estimate the seized illegal drugs to be worth around Php 70 million.
