The Philippine National Police (PNP) units recovered around Php 99.67 million worth of crystallized methamphetamine, locally known as shabu, and marijuana plants during its anti-illegal drug operations past week.
The national police force said that 25 separate operations across the country yielded to the seizure of 7,606,69 grams of shabu and 239,500 marijuana plants.
PNP chief PGen. Archie Gamboa took note that police units conducted the operations even though most of the areas in the country remain under general community quarantine due to the 2019 Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic..
“The PNP has been consistent in its warning. No let up in the pursuit of criminals. Our recent accomplishments nationwide validate the PNP’s determination to eradicate threats to the public’s safety and security,” Gamboa said in a statement.
