Police Major General Jose Maria ‘Jovic’ Ramos, one of the high-ranking police officials hurt in a chopper crash last March, has passed away.

In a report, PNP spokesman Ysmael Yu confirmed on Tuesday that Ramos died at 12:07 AM. His remains would be brought  to Eternal Gardens in Sta. Rosa in Laguna.

On March 5, a PNP Bell 429 chopper carrying retired Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Archie Gamboa, spokesman Gerald Banac, and three others crashed inside the Laperal Compound, San Pedro, Laguna due to poor visibility caused by thick dust.

However, Ramos was revealed to be severely hurt and has been in a critical condition since the chopper incident.

Magaway, who also suffered serious injuries, was discharged from the hospital in May.

PNP expressed condolences to the bereaved family of Ramos and to the Philippine Military Academy “Sinagtala” Class of 1986.
