Philippine National Police Director General Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa promised a stronger campaign against illegal drugs, even if he only has a month left before he retires from service.
According to Del Rosa, he seeks to give the ‘maximum dent’ on the illegal drug problem in the Philippines, since the PNP will be returning to the administration’s ‘war-on-drugs’.
Dela Rosa said that this will be the legacy that he will leave to the PNP before his retirement.
The PNP chief explained that this is why he appointed S/Supt. Albert Ferro as chief of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group.
Dela Rosa further added that part of their campaign is the actions of S/Supt. Jovie Espenido, chief of Ozamiz City Police, against the suspected remnants of the Parojinogs’ illegal drug trade group.
Dela Rosa is set to retire from police service on Jan. 21 2018, and based on the statement of Malacañang, he will be appointed as new director of the Bureau of Corrections.
