Police Chief Dir. Gen. Ronald Dela Rosa ordered the strengthening of its agency’s fight against illegal gambling in the country.
According to Dela Rosa, this should end within 15 days. If the regional directors fail to follow his directive, the PNP chief will immediately axe them from their posts.
Dela Rosa also the regional directors power to remove from their posts anyone who will disobey his directive, including PDs and COP.
The directive was given to them during the Command Conference in Camp Crame, which was attended by all high-rank officials of the Police Regional Offices and National Support Unites.
This was the PNP’s answer to a recent comment by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office that allegedly, the PNP’s campaign against illegal gambling, especially in Jueteng, is inadequate.
In other news, Dela Rosa also said that it is important for the PNP to be able to account all the members of the Parojinog family, who became the target of its search warrant in Ozamis.
Board member Ricardo “Ardot” Parojinog was able to escape when authorities were serving the search warrant against him and mayor Reynaldo Parojinog and his daughter Vice Mayor Nova Parojinog.
Dela Rosa said that he will remain mum on the issue that they were able to put a stop on the illegal drugs operations in Ozamis following the death of Mayor Aldo.
Aside from illegal drugs, the Parojinogs are also being linked to illegal activities in Metro Manila, including bank robberies, “Martilyo Gang” and kidnapping, which were allegedly committed by the Ozamis group and the remaining members of the Kuratong group.
Atty. Ferdinand Topacio appeared before the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, and revealed that he will be representing the Parojinogs.
Topacio said that after meeting with Nova and Reynaldo Parojinog Jr., the two said that they chose to be detained in Camp Crame for their security.
