Police Chief Dir. Gen. Oscar Albayalde has instructed the Internal Affairs Service (IAS) to expedite the resolution of the administrative cases faced by some members of the police force.
During a press briefing in Camp Crame, Albayalde explained that this is not just about penalizing police, but also to ensure that due process will be given.
In line with this, the new PNP chief expects that more cops will be suspended or dismissed from the PNP.
Albayalde also warned ground commanders and regional directors that they could also be relieved from service, and asked them to keep him informed of significant incidents in their areas.
During his first flag-raising ceremony as the 22nd PNP chief, Albayalde promised that the country’s police force will be known for its discipline during his term.
In his term as chief of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Albayalde claimed that he has ordered the dismissal of 279 police, while sending 400 others to Basilan as part of their disciplinary action.
