President Benigno Aquino III immediately accepted the irrevocable resignation of outgoing PCSO Chairperson Margarita Juico.
Juico resigned from her post and will be replaced by former Cavite Gov. Ayong Maliksi.
PCOO Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said that Juico was good and dedicated in providing service to the government and to the poor Filipinos.
Juico served during the administration of the late President Corazon Aquino and continued being with the PCSO board in the next administration.
“As an esteemed family friend, President Aquino wishes her well on her decision to end her stint in public service,” said Coloma.
Juico was disappointed because it was due to dirty politics that caused her to quit her post.
Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa said that the PCSO position has longed been promised to Maliksi.
Meanwhile, Juico denied that Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas was the reason behind her resignation.
According to Juico, she opted to resign and it was her family who convinced her to do so.
The out-going PCSO Chairwoman is 65 years old and at the right time to retire.
Though Juico admits that she had a tiff with Roxas regarding some of the latter’s documents, but they’ve already ironed out their differences. (with Rey Sibayan)
