Perasol may soon coach the UP Fighting Maroons

The University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons will have a new head coach in the coming season of the Universities Athletic Association of the Philippines and it may well be Bo Perasol.

School officials have reportedly initiated talks Perasol to handle the squad in the coming season.

Perasol, or even a different bench tactician, will replace former UP mentor Rensy Bajar.

Perasol was head coach of the Ateneo De Manila Blue Eagles but parted ways with the squad three months ago.

Former Barako Bull head coach Bong Ramos is also in the short list of candidates.

Another candidate is two-time UAAP women’s basketball champion coach Pat Aquino, who is an assistant coach at Blackwater.

Other changes in the UAAP include coach Tab Baldwin taking over the Ateneo program after Perasol’s departure.

Aldin Ayo, who led the Letran Knights to the National Collegiate Athletic Association championship last season, replaced Juno Sauler at the helm of the La Salle team.

Former La Salle coach Franz Pumaren assumed the head coaching chores at the Adamson program.
