Candidates of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) put an end to the 40-year long reign of the Floreindo and Del Rosario clans in Davao Del Norte.
Davao Del Norte 1st District Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez seized another term after beating outgoing Gov. Anthony Del Rosario while 2nd District Rep. Antonio Floreindo failed to extend his term after losting to former Vice Gov. Aldu Dujal, who is running under PDP-Laban.
Meanwhile, Edwin Jubahib, the chief of staff of Alvarez, garnered 280,335 votes to win against Rodolfo Del Rosario Jr. for the governorship of Davao Del Norte.
Alvarez admitted that he is pleased with the results of the elections since his fellow Davaoenos voiced out their ‘rejection’ against the reign of Floreindo and Del Rosario families.
“That was the will of God na kailangan tapusin na yung political dynasty na 40 years dito sa probinsya sa Davao Del Norte,” Alvarez said in an interview with Radyo Natin.
