The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) handed a three-day suspension and a Php 75,000 fine to Talk N’ Text Katropa assistant coach Tab Baldwin for  making detrimental comments against the league.

Baldwin became a topic of controversy following his comments during a podcast regarding the tournament’s format, the coaches, and the officiating in the PBA.

Before PBA penalized Baldwin, the Kiwi-American coach spoke with commissioner Willie Marcial, deputy commissioner Eric Castro, and the league’s legal counsel Atty. Melvin Mendoza during an online conference

PBA said that Baldwin was apologetic during the meeting, and insisted that his comments were taken out of context.

Other coaches in the PBA and the Basketball Coaches Association of the Philippines criticized Baldwin, who also serves as consultant for the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, for his comments during the podcast.
