Filipino American basketball star Bobby Ray Parks Jr. won his third straight Local Most Valuable Player award in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL).
The 26-year old guard of Alab Pilipinas received the award on Sunday, May 5, during the ceremony before the Game-2 of the 2018-2019 ABL Finals series between the Singaport Slinger and the CLS Knights Indonesia at the OCBC Arena in Singapore.
Parks averaged 15.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game for the Philippine squad who finished second seed after registering 18 wins and eight losses in the elimination round of the ninth ABL season.
However, the the defending champions made an early exit in the playoffs after losing to Hong Kong Eastern in the best-of-three quarterfinals series.
Parks made history for being the first player in the ABL to win three Local MVP plums.
The 6’4 player has already said farewell to Alab Pilipinas before signing with Blackwater Elite, the team that picked him 2nd overall during the 2018 PBA draft.
He will make his debut in the premier men’s basketball league in the Philippines during the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
