A town in the province of Palawan has been placed under the state of calamity following the region’s diarrhea outbreak.
The town of Quezon in Palawan was placed under a state of calamity following the death of four resident due to the outbreak.
The four victims were reportedly from barangays Alfonso VIII and Malatgao in Quezon town.
According to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the source of the outbreak was traced to Barangay Pinaglabanan and the contamination of drinking water in Quezon town.
Some 727 people have suffered from diarrhea since the beginning of the outbreak in July.
