Palace shies away from issue on former Senators’ Pork Barrel Fund scam case

Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte

Malacanang would rather not comment on the cases filed against former Senators’ Ramon Revilla Sr., and Dr. Loi Ejercito-Estrada in connection with the Pork Barrel Fund scam.

According to Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte, the administration is leaving it up to the Department of Justice to investigate the connection of the older Revilla and Dr. Loi that allegedly they used fake NGOs of pork barrel fund scam queen Janet Lim-Napoles.

Valte added that it’s up to the task force to evaluate this new information. The Spokesperson said that Malacanang is following the due process of law in probing any case.

“Let’s put it through the process first. But then again, we’ll leave it to the task force that is investigating all matters related to the PDAF anomaly”, Valte was quoted saying.

Prior to this, Commission of Audit Chief Grace Tan said the Senate hearing last Thursday that some Senators used local government units in the pork barrel scam in 2011 and 2012.
