World boxing icon and Saranggani Rep. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao reportedly is set to visit Filipina drug mule convict Mary Jane Veloso, who was spared from execution in Indonesia last April.
The Migrante International confirmed that Pacquiao will be visiting Mary Jane, as the latter awaits any development to her case.
Pacquiao, Chairman of the House committee on migrant workers, flew to Jakarta on Tuesday night, declared his trip with his wife, Saranggani Vice Governor Jinkee Pacquiao as an official visit.
The people’s champ visit arises after Migrante International stated that the Indonesian government is expected to announce the complete names of those scheduled to be executed by firing squad on July 17, at the end of the Ramadan, and Veloso’s name may be included in the said list.
Department of Foreign Affairs spokesman Charles Jose will verify the final death row list with the Indonesian authorities.
Before his fight last April, Pacquiao appealed to Indonesian President Joko Widodo to grant executive clemency to Mary Jane.
