Senator Manny Pacquiao has confirmed that he will be fighting again this coming November.
Pacquiao, after meeting with promoter Bob Arum, said that his next match will be against WBO Welterweight champion Jessie Vargas.
The rookie senator said that he agreed to the Nov. 5 match because boxing is his passion and that he misses being in the gym and boxing ring.
He added that November bout will not interfere with his job in the Senate and that all his training sessions will all be conducted here in the Philippines.
During his campaign, Pacquiao said that he will retire from boxing and focus on his political career if he were to win a seat in the Senate.
Pacquiao — dubbed as the Philippines’ “Pambansang Kamao” — explained that boxing is his family’s source of income and that his earnings in boxing fund his charity projects, which helps a lot of people.
