The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration announced the launching of a hotline to be able to deliver a speedy response to calls for assistance from distressed OFWs.

The hotline 1348 is dedicated to all OFWs who need help and assistance, according to the OWWA officials.

However, for the calls outside Metro Manila, callers need to dial (02) 1348 while for international calls, dial (0632) 1348. The hotline is open 24 hours daily.

During the launching, the OWWA mentioned the case of an OFW who has just arrived from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who worked as household service worker before she was rescued and sent home. She also revealed that she was constantly abused by her employers.

The OWWA pointed out that the hotline is expected to help deliver swift assistance to troubled OFWs abroad.
