Oplan Tokhang limited to normal work days, hours

No more Oplan Tokhang in the evenings.

This is one of the changes in the new guidelines released by the Philippine National Police regarding the resumption of Oplan Tokhang as part of the government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign.

According to PC/Supt. Dionardo Carlos of the PNP – Public Information Office, the implementation of Oplan Tokhang will only be limited to normal office hours or from 8:00AM to 5:00PM; Monday to Friday.

Carlos further explained that a police commissioned officer should lead the operation and that respect for human rights should be the foremost principle in the implementation of Oplan Tokhang.

Meanwhile, PNP Chief PDG Ronald Dela Rosa also revealed that PDDG Fernando Mendez Jr., chairman of the Oversight Committee, will meet with all deputy regional director for operations to discuss a unified style for the renewed Oplan Tokhang of the PNP.
