One of PAL aircraft’s wheels exploded after landing in Dumaguete airport

The wheel of a Philippine Airlines (PAL) plane exploded while in the runway of Dumaguete Airport on Tuesday, August 14, morning.

Cielo Villaluna, spokesperson of PAL, explained that there were no problems when Flight PR-2541 from Manila landed at Dumaguete Airport at 6:42AM but the wheel of the aircraft suddenly exploded.

The 130 passengers of the flight safely evacuated the aircraft.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) temporarily closed the Dumaguete Airport runway while the damaged airplane has not yet been removed.

PAL also cancelled all of their flights from Manila to Dumaguete and also their returning flights.

Villaluna apologized to the passengers of the affected flights, and promised that they will investigate the cause of the incident.
