The Technical Education and Skills Development Autority vows to provide free skills training to Overseas Filipino Workers will be come home from Kuwait.
According to TESDA Dir. Guiling Mamondiong, this is their way of providing returning OFWs the chance to have their own businesses and or new jobs.
Prior to this, the government has implemented a total deployment ban on OFWs in Kuwait following the increased in numbers of OFWs being abused by their employers.
Mamondiong said that all regional, provincial and district directors, including TESDA-accredited technology institutions are tasked to prioritized free trainings of OFWs that are affected by the deployment ban.
TESDA will also be in contact with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration to make sure that all OFWs coming home will be aware of this offer.
More than 1,500 OFWs have already been repatriated from Kuwait.
